Earlier this year the Science Daily published an article reporting that the world remains ‘grossly underprepared’ for outbreaks of infectious diseases.

A research team at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva has produced seven major reports reviewing the world’s reaction to the Ebola outbreak in 2014, and laid out the key problems and recommendations. Alongside institutional shortcomings, the team found that countries needed to strengthen compliance with international health regulations and improve outbreak-related research and knowledge-sharing.
