On 5 June, people around the world celebrated World Environment Day, the biggest annual event for positive environmental action. Head of Environment at the UN, Erik Solheim, said in his statement that the day ‘reminds us of what a treasure nature is, and encourages us all to protect and appreciate our environment’.  Protecting our planet means a responsible and sustainable use of its resources! Not only are microbial technologies key to water recycling used in industrial processes, they also contribute significantly to the protection of our forests by ensuring effective and long-lasting preservation of wood used for construction. As a result, microbial control ensures the sustainable use and preservation of two of our most important resources: water and air.
