On 5 May, the World Health Organisation (WHO) sent a clear and powerful message: “Clean hands are the start to a healthy life.” Conscious of the dramatic consequences of health care-associated infections, the WHO reminds us all – and health workers in particular – that most of these infections are preventable through good hand hygiene. This is where microbial control technologies can play a critical role. Saving lives can be actually simpler than we thought!
